This zendala has a split personality. It is dare #68 from Erin at http://thebrightowl.blogspot.com/
I was quite taken with this template. I like the stars and orbs. Even so, I stared at it for a while before I could finally decide which tangles to use.
I knew right away I wanted to divide this using a curved line - like a yin yang symbol. So one half was colored black leaving only the template lines white. I used my IDentipen to color the black parts. It filled in those areas quickly and solidly. The tangles were done with a white gelly roll pen on the black sections and a black Micron was used on the white sections. I used a white Conte chalk pencil in the black area and a regular pencil to shade on the white side.
Absolutely beautiful effect! That cubine looks very cute.

Several times I tried to translate the comments back and forth to Google Translate, but it is often quite incorrectly translates the phrase, distorting the meaning of what was said.

ReplyDeleteSue, I tried to divide mine unevenly and really did not care for the results but now that I see yours I think it was because mine lacked definition. By using a double line you really defined the sides and it looks fantastic. I love the tangles you chose! Beautiful work!

ReplyDeleteSue you did a great linework on this one. You created a beautiful opposite in your composition, but what makes it so more beautiful to me is how you divided the circle, by using the Yin-Yang string. Makes it look so in balance. Well done.
