I live in the Midwest now, but I grew up in New York. So for me, the New Year always begins when the ball drops in Times Square. I've never had to pleasure of seeing it in person, but now that I'm past that stage in my life, it's perfect for me to see it on TV. I used a Renaissance tile to try to convey the excitement of that moment when the countdown hits the moment of the New Year.
I did another tile to celebrate '2014'. Here I envisioned that the numbers, 2014, and their auras, were simply another tangle pattern to use. Add a little 'Ahh', and let's see what I get. I did this one with my Sakura gelly roll pens in the gold and silver colors.
What a great purk ball. Your tan tile is fabulous, it shines and really shows the excitment of the countdown. I have never been or seen it but I can see it in your tile.

ReplyDeleteLike your "Times Square ball". Like the white highlights. Did you use a Gelly Roll or is one of the chalk pencils or Prism colored pencil. Like the second also. Is simple but to the point. Is a nice effect.

ReplyDeleteYour dropping-ball tile is so interesting. The white on the renaissance tile looks like puffy marshmallows. They even FEEL squishy and puffy!!!
