Duotangle prayer for spring

I can't believe it actually snowed AGAIN this morning! And they say the temperatures may fall into record cold tonight. I am sooo over winter. So when I saw this challenge to combine Crescent Moon and Diva Dance into a Duotangle, I started seeing the Crescent Moon tangle as warm sunshine with green things (Diva Dance) starting to poke out from the ground. Yeah, yeah, wishful thinking, but I can dream.

I even did two tiles with this theme. On the first I used a green colored tile. I liked my diva dance in the middle but the crescent moon felt too stiff and structured. I just went for it in the second tile and I think I like it better.

I used colored Micron pens and shaded with colored pencils. I filled in the crescent moon with an orange Tombow marker. That really sped things up.

  1. Just beautiful both tiles. I like the first one because you did it on a green tile. And as a whole it has a greenish look being warmed with the orange of the crescent moon, according to me this one gives me more the feeling of warmth, it is just like a sky with a beautiful sun rise, but than in green.... The second one on the otherhand looks like a river to me, floating with cold water, and the crescent moon is trying to take over the cold and wants to push spring in it! I hope for you that this wishful thinking is coming true real soon.

  4. Lovely effects on both tiles, Sue - you capture Spring here, even if you have snow outside. I am SO ready for Spring and it does seem to have arrived at last here in Andalucia. Axxx

  6. Sue, I am with you, on the so over winter! Your tiles really bring some warmth to the week! Would love to know on the first one whether it is colored paper that you started with or if you toned it green somehow. It gives a beautiful effect.

  7. I feel like I could reach right into the first one - plunge my hand in and rummage around and I'm sure somewhere in there I'd find spring!
