Labyrinth

This was an interesting challenge from the Diva this week. It certainly describes my past two weeks. My husband had open heart surgery and a triple bypass. He is home now and should recover fully. Like many men though, he is not shy about letting me know about every time something hurts. So I feel I have been walking the path of this labyrinth with all it's turns, its times of back-tracking, and hopefully reaching the middle.

I used one of my hand colored tiles with a white pen, and colored pencil for shading. Tangles were very simplified this time. I guess that that should be a lesson for me to just simplify my life!

  1. Lovely tile. I am hoping to take one of your classes at MCC.

  2. Sue, healing thoughts and prayers for your husband (and you - I get what you mean...!) This tile and the labyrinth you designed are just so lovely! Yes, simplify is a great mantra. No one really notices all the little details we all fuss over. They just want us to get there all in one piece and happy!

  3. Thinking about you and hubby. I understand how difficult things can be. I am glad that you are on the other side, and going towards recovery. Your tile is as always masterful. Thinking about both of you and hang in there.

  4. Simplicity is often best during difficult times. When a part of our lives becomes challenging I tend to simplify everything including our home, meals and schedule.

I love the white on blue and the shading adds depth, lovely!!!
    Take care,

  5. I'm so glad to hear he's home and recovering. It's amazing how you can tangle your way into life lessons like this. Your tile is absolutely gorgeous in its simplicity, and the lesson it taught you is one I think I can use too, so thank you for that too!

  6. A really fantastic tile. There is an optical illusion going there where I can see it both as a flat labyrinth and as three sides of a cube. Remember to take care of yourself while you are taking care of hubby!

  7. I'm glad for both of you, that your husband is home. To be honest, in my marriage I am the one that is always telling en nagging about pain or discomfort. My husband is spastic and I hardly ever hear him complain. So ..... not always men :-)
    I like your zendala, Sue!!!

  8. This is a beautiful labyrinth...almost a zendala format. I am a blue and white fanatic so this really resonates. Glad hubby is better...the fact that he is vocal about the aches and pains is a good sign, he must be on the mend if he has energy for that. Take care of you too...if you don't, who will?

  9. Such a beautiful and yet simple labyrinth. I not only like the simple tangles that you have used, but I really like the structure of your labyrinth as well. It's possible that the timing on this challenge was a hint to you to simplify and slow down. I'm glad that your husband is home and doing better. Now you need to concentrate on getting you back on track. Just follow your labyrinth one step at a time and center yourself before you turn around and come back to your busy day. Hugs!

  10. A gorgeous Tile, Sue. Love your construction and design. So well thought out and beautifully drawn. Heart surgery is not fun. May your husbands recovery be quick, and complete. Blessings to you both.
