On the tenth day of Christmas - Paradox String

Rick and Maria from Zentangle have been presenting us with wonderful videos throughout this holiday season. If you look for them on YouTube will find them memorizing. I haven't had time to do them all but I hope to get to them later. This one is based on the tenth day. We were presented with using the tangle Paradox as a string. On the video the tangle chosen was striping.

I used my tangle 'coil'. On the black tile I used the new #10 white gelly roll pens. then I used a blue and white chalk pencil for the color. I liked the effect as it reminds me of all the holiday ribbons that get scattered around the presents.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

On the 3rd day of Christmas - Rumpus

There is a new tangle from Zentangle. It's called Rumpus and it's lots of fun to play with. Rick and Maria have a YouTube video demonstrating it that will get you going.

In my version I used a set of 6 3z tiles. (It's done on a Zendala tile in the video.) I used 3zs so I could do this tangle in a larger scale and play with it by rearranging the 3z tiles. Photos below. I used a sepia colored pen and colored pencils for shading.

Happy holidays everyone!

Midnight

This tile uses the new tangle 'dewd'. It works especially well on a black tile with white ink.  I liked the organic nature of the dewd tangle so I picked several other organic tangles and off I went. I named this tile "midnight in the garden of good and evil ". The tangle dewd seems so pure and innocent to me with all its orbs, while the tangle punzel makes me think of a devil's horn.
