Danger, Danger, Will Robinson!

I did something last night that I've been afraid to tackle for a while. I tangled on my new white jean jacket. I was so thrilled when I found it in the store. It has the style I wanted, it fits perfectly, and it was on SALE! The perfect trifecta! And since it is white and I like to have fun yet professional clothes that are good for teaching my zentangle class, it was in my bag in a flash.

I knew I wanted to tangle it, but I was nervous. It is so perfect I didn't want to mess it up! What if it didn't come out the way I wanted it! But after a push from the Diva to try something 'dangerous', I got out my pen and went to it. I used the Pentel Gel Roller for fabric.

The internet provided inspiration for the design as I took bits and pieces from different sites to put this together. At some point I'll work on tangling a couple of panels in the front of the jacket too. I haven't decide whether I want to add shading yet. I rather like the black and white.

  1. Wow Sue, That looks great! Thanks for letting us know what pen you used too. (Another reason for me to buy a new pen to try as it looks like it has a nice line quality. As if I really needed one!)

  2. Wow! I think you should send a photo to the shop you bought it from. Maybe they can use yours to create a whole new line of clothing!

  10. Wow Sue, I think you did a great job, I just love this jacket. And yes I would think it as very dagerous to use black ink pens on such a beautiful white jacket. But you jumped into it and did a fabulous job! My compliments!

  13. Breathtaking, Sue. Now that's truly a Danger Zone for me: tangling on a garment. I would be certain to goof it up. But you've done a fabulous job!

  16. Gosh, your work is ALWAYS soooooo good, & you are SOOOOOO brave to tangle on a clothing item you love. It's one thing to mess up on paper, that's nothing; BUT, you threw caution to the wind, & whaddya know, it comes out insanely beautiful.

There aren't enough adjectives in the thesaurus to justify how much I love this!

  17. This is amazing! you will definately be getting orders from people. I have an apron to try it out on but i just keep getting it out, staring at it and then putting it away. I'm just not quite sure how i want to start it yet.

  19. How brave is that.....good on you Sue! Go Girl! Recently I took the bull by the horns as well, so to speak, and tangled straight onto some lampshades. I gave them a coat of 'workable Fixative' first (to stop any bleeding) and then worked with my usual Sakura pens. Turned out well, so husband Maurie has one on his side of the bed, I have one on mine and there is another in the study I have my eye on!
